I have a wet/dry with a built in skimmer. I also have an extra skimmer from aprevious setup. Would using both be overkill?

probably not. if the skimmer came with your wet/dry it's probably to small anyway.

most likely not...what are the specs of your tank, wet dry and skimmers?

The tank is a 75 gal with about 70lbs of live sand and about 100lbs of live rock. The wet/dry is a aqua clear 75 pro and the other skimmer is a top fathom 110a. Just put the sand and rock in today (hands still a little wet) so there's no fish or any other coral besides what came on the rock. By the way all the rock and sand is from gulfview.com. The top fathom skimmer is rated 120-200 Gph. If anyone is familiar with this wet/dry what are the recommendations on how to run it. I've already removed all the bioballs; but was wondering if I should add rock rubble or sand in it. Have only checked water right after I added it to tank filling it so all test were normal except ammonia which was a bit high but cleared up after running it awhile with some carbon.
