Any experiance on these? Wife dropped two in my tank while I was out screwing off. Some weird fish too. Silvery, about the size of a quarter.
Also some wierd looking snails with a huge foot and tiny snorkle.
All came from Port Aransas.
Wife has been briefed not to add potentially unsafe critters to the tank. :(

a few years ago i brought back some snails from port A thinking WOW look at all these snails and i'm paying 2.50 each at the lfs. well i put them in my tank and thought all right got a 100.00 worth of snails for nothing. next day i see the new snails and my old turbos shell to shell. wow! are they matting? NO THE NEW SNAILS WERE EATING MY TURBOS. no no no i said and started pulling out the snails. i think i lost about 10 turbos and all the carniverise snails. it's not that i saved a 100.00 but lost 25.00 of good turbos. just a thought. next time i bring something from the coast i'll put it in other tank cause you can bring back a lot of neat stuff.

I don't know about the fish or snails without a picture, but the sand dollars are fine.

snails.....huge foot on a stalk...foot was about dime sized and they burrow completely beneath the sand, except for snorkle...
I'll get a pic soon as I can find one of the buggers...

Have you ever picked up a mollusk shell on the beach and seen a small hole drilled through the shell? That's caused by a snail called a Thais. They basically drill a hole through the shells with a drill bit type appendage on their mouth and suck out the inhabitants. Thais are the common snail you find at the coast that look something like a Turbo.
