hey all....
I just thought i would post a few pics of my current reeftank since breaking down the 125 and placing everything i had left into my 58.
this tank is lit by a 150w hqi 14k, and dual 65w pc ultra-actinics.

i set the stand up with just about every gizmo i had except for the cpr aquafuge pro, u.v. light, tunze turbelles and phos reactor.

the only thing that has shown to be a problem are 2 digitatas, one red and one orange, both are turning white, but the remaining corals are in good health.
this is one of my sps colonies, i have another one just like this on another frag plug and a smaller frag mounted to a rock. the purple tips have become more noticable, and has strated to grow out finaly!

here is a blastomusa i got from samiam, it has doubled in size too!

ultra-actinic lighting really makes these star polyps glow nicely! and the green acro (slimer?) is looks great under the lighting as well!

this galaxia coral is one of my favorites, its also spreading out nicely!

tomorrow, i will try and capture my two rabbitfish and return them for store credit if possible, i'd like to keep them, but they are just wrong for this size tank and setup.

peace!

right now i am exchanging saltwater using the litermeters to pump out water from the sump and pump in fresh salt mix at the same time. i usally mix up 10gls and exchange 5gls twice a week. it takes about 2 hours. i am considering just letting my pumps dose a little at a time over the week, but, since i travel, i would hate to empty one and over fill the other, and come home to a mess ;)

i removed the fish from the reef, so now there is no major bioload. everytime they would munch on the sea veggies, i would have thousands of pieces floating in the tank, not a pretty sight. and since i have a low turnover rate from the sump, it would stay suspended for days. so now i am considering using the main litermeter to dose phyto or zooplankton, but, due to my small evaporation rate (1/3gpd), i don't think that would be wise...
