Is anybody using one of these skimmers?
Mine has definitely been through the "break-in" period and I still can't get it to produce effluent.
I am running this with a Mag7 (one of 3 recommended on PM's site in manual section) and currently have a diatom outbreak. Diatoms just showed up a few days ago and the skimmer has been running a little over 2 weeks now.
This tank is a newly setup tank which might explain the diatoms but I put a few uncured pieces of live rock in the tank so I feel that this skimmer should be producing at least wet foam if nothing else.
I have been over the instructions again and again and have followed every step (although missed a step 2 weeks ago but have since resolved) and I just can't get any production from this unit.
The return is about 1/2 height of skimmer with the gate valve, return is above running water level and water/air level is about 1/2" from neck as specified in manual here (http://www.precisionmarine.com/html/e-series_.html).
Am I doing something wrong here?
I never had problems with my EV90 producing and it had a trickier setup.
I am really starting to miss that AquaC.

I intend on calling PM tomorrow but would appreciate any assistance or suggestions from anyone who may have experienced this problem first-hand.

Please help me figure this out.
Thanks.

Thanks for the response Joshua.

I guess from reading WWM, I assumed that when they said during diatom issues that it is best to have aggressive skimming, I was/am expecting to see something produced.
What you say makes sense to me though as only about 10# of the rock was pretty nasty.

I did call PM today and had to leave a message. They did return my call :D but said they were on their way out the door so I didn't receive any helpful info :( .

Not quite sure how to feel about that but I am ready to leave my job at quitting time, especially on Friday, so I guess I understand.
