They are used quite a bit in NC and on RC they get good ratings. I was going to get one until I came across the Amp3k for a better price.

I really like the pumps. I just received the seq 5800. Very well built pump. I have not started it up yet, but I have read great things about it. The reeflo series are good as well, just be careful when connecting it. I have heard alot of stories of breaking them while trying to connect the plumbing. The best price I found on the 1000 series is at AZPonds. Even with the saltwater seals added I received it within a week.

That is the same brand pump that Blake is using on his system. Extremely quiet and maybe he could give you some feedback on it.

Custom Aquatics had them on sale pretty cheap recently and I got the Sting-Ray model. Haven't had a chance to hook it up yet. It was rated stronger than the AMP3000 and I got it for much less. Plus, I don't have to worry about whether the seal will last a week or a year like you do with the Dolphin pumps. Cliff got his pump from me and it is an older model so the new ones should be just as good if not better.

Just remembered that Richard was telling me they are now carrying a line of pumps but I can't remember if it was the sequence or not. You can give them a call and check also.

In the MDM Sequence line of pumps, the Barracuda has replaced the Stingray.

They just came out with the Sting Ray. It is part of the same line up with the Dart and Hammerhead. Their website stinks as it doesn't list all of what they make.

I really like my hammerhead pump. It is really quiet.

Hey Blake, How quiet is "really quiet". If it was running under your tank in your living room would you still think it was really quiet?

I have an Iwaki md100 under my tank and it is much louder than I was expecting it to be so I'm trying to find a better pump.

This thing is silent. If it was under the tank in my living room, I doubt I would hear it.

You have any new acros in?

Cool, guess I'll be getting a sequence pump. Anybody interested in a week old MD100?

Yeah we have some acros, most or are browned up at the moment.

I just replaced my three wave2ks with an oceansmotion and sequence reefflo dart pump (3500gph)three days ago. For $179.00 @ 160watts at acropora.net its awesome. They make different pumps but their new line (reeflo) is specifically designed for saltwater. The only draw back I had was the inlet to the pump is 2" and out is 1.5". I can't hear the pump. My Iwaki and little giant are ten times louder with 1/3 of the flow. Unfortunalty, I am still fighting microbubbles.

I did not have the tank drilled for this but yes I just went up and over the back of the tank using 2" PVC. You need to use the 180 degree elbow with drain so that you can prime remove air pockets. I just drilled a hole on the plug and glued a John guest fitting. Currently I am fighting an air leak somewhere on the suction side. I will try to tackle that this weekend. As for the sequence, this thing rocks. Dan, they are worth the money. I wish they made a lower volume pump in the reeflo series so that I could replace the little giant and iwaki.
