Could you explain the set up and how you ran it... How you cycled, what was in the tank, specs, water changes, etc.

Sorry if you have put this elsewhere.

I know how frustrating it is when something you worked so hard on flops.

i noticed clowns seem to get ich fast if they dont have enough swimming room. I had 2 in my 10 and they always would get it, i moved them to a 30 cube and they could not be happier *my opinion

I don't know how you "Nano Guys" do it! I sometimes think my 125 is barely capable of staying stable!

I'm impressed by anyone that can keep a nano (<50g in my definition) stable, and totaly amazed with folks runing 10g (micro-nano) systems :o

amazing ...

man..I agree guys..those nano dudes sure do magic..the 25 gal. i have its a jebo R 362..its kind of cube looking..i took water from my 90 gallon tank, which has been up for a year..and filled my 25 up..the tank has 2-65 watt PCs..it has no room for a skimmer since the filtration system is like the eclipse systrem..except this one doesnt have a bio-wheel..right now i only have like 20 lbs of live rock..and a percula clown..the anemone died..did my best to try to keep it alive..but it croaked..and the other clown is in QT..his mouth is falling off..i have no clue what went wrong!!!..my 90 reef is in perfect conditions..no idea...very frustrating..since i didnt have a skimmer i did water changes every week..for 2 weeks, hats how long it lasted..lol..

I wish I could give some good advice, but alas, I know very little. But I can say I am sorry because if it happened to me I would be sad.

You should replace the filter floss pads on your current filter. Old pad=hight nitrate=bad. You should use Poly Filter as your new pads. Unless you plan on doing weekly water change, you should get a skimmer. If this is your reef tank, you need to add more water movement to your tank. I can't see clearly from your old picture, but your anemone looks like it's white (bleached). Even if your tank is setup correctly, anemone can bee harder to keep. For a tank like this without a skimmer, you should try to keep easier corals like GSP & mushrooms.

I'm sorry to hear about this also Silver. It seems like as much joy as this hobby can bring, it can also be the most frustrating thing in the world sometimes :( .

Couple questions. Was the live rock from your existing 90 or from somewhere else? Also, when you did the water changes, how much did you change and did you use fresh water or water from your other tank again?

Sorry about your disaster. I truly hope you can save the clown. They are very strong fish.
In regard to the setup: Without a custom built light system and top on that jebo, there is not enough light for most anemones. One exception might be the little rock anemones that can be captured on the pilings underneath the Port Aransas Pier. All they need is a good actinic pc, very fast and irregular current, some food and they're set. Tropical and sub tropical (condy's, flowers, florida carpets) anemones from the fish store all need much more light and different spectums than are available or possible in a jebo. Bulbs would need to be changed every 6 months, water quality must be good and mixed with RO. Temp needs to be stabile all the time, not spiking while you're at work and dropping down later. That happens often in small tanks with store bought tops. Size really has nothing to do with it.

I have been running a 7 gal bowfront for almost a year now, with no casualties. Oh, I lost an emerald crab once. All I have on there is a Bak Pak 2R. I have had 2 neon gobies and 2 rusty gobies for almost the entire time, and a brancing hammer that doubled in size. For some reason, zoos dont like the tank.......my advice? Get a skimmer.

thanks guys, yeah, it can be frustrating..well, i did 5 gal. water changes with r.o water..the rock was from my 90..it was my fault, ive should have known better, anemones are very difficult animals to keep alive..i would like to turn that 25 into a zooanthid tank..and have the 2 clowns in there..any adivce is greatly appreciated..thanks!..oh..i would have to re-do the top..theres no room for any type of skimmer..

My first thought was some type of new-tank-syndrome ammonia spike, but sounds like you got that covered. Wish I could offer more insight...
