I was just wondering if anyone has used any of this stuff, and what they thought of it. I am thinking about ordering a few pounds when I get my sump set up.

Thanks,
Mike

Yeah, I bought some when I was first getting started, and it helped my tank alot. You might also try some of the "invert sand" from inland aquatics, some sand from Tim Marvin, and/or one of the live sand starter set ups from IPSF. Of course, if this live sand bank ever gets going on MAAST, that would be a great option. The more stuff you can get from a variety of sources, the better.

Sorry, this is a little old. I've used GARF grunge and liked it. Also I ordered one of their reef janitor packages and liked it too...

Mike how long did it take you to get a response from them? I put in a request a month ago and still have not heard anything from them.

Thanks,
Mike

Honestly, I called and went over everything with somebody live, and had him set up everything right then and there. My brief experience with them was that if I got a hold of someone on the phone they were pretty good, but with email and website related things weren't very responsive. Did you do an online form or something?

the only reason why I have not ordered is their web site is the most user unfriendly. I cannot even find out how to see all of their products. I have heard that their product is great but two thumbs down on their web site.

Steve,

You have to remember they are not really a commercial reef site. I have always got good service from them. Leroy usually calls the next business day after I place an order and follows up on the online order. The best thing to do is give them a call to their phone number listed on the site. Their website is designed more for education than for selling their products. Its difficult to compare them to a commercial site. The products they sell are basically intended to help support their research products.

I've ordered reef janitors from GARF several times. I got some Grunge from them as a freebie and added it to one of my tanks, but with something like that its hard to tell what it actually did. I figured if nothing else, it would add some diversity to my DSB. I've also gotten a couple of frags from them as freebies. The pipe organ I have is from them and is awesome.
