i have had many experiences good and bad in my short reef "life", bu tthe owrst and scariet happen about 30 minutes ago..for those of you that don't know i havce a 125, and a new 375, today i was to put my lionfish in my 375 as my real first fish,( i have many damsels in the big tank already)...well to put my lionfish in the big tank, i have to transfer my lion from the 125, to the 375, well also in the 125, is a 32 inch epaulette which is my pride and joy, by far my favorite fish..well to get the lion out i had to take off the glass tops to get the lion out, b/c he is pretty big at 14 inches now, so i had to take the tops off, and put a container in there to get him out and start acclimating him.......well when i put the container in there, for some reason my shark got spooked, then the worst thing ever that could happen happened...my shark jumped and flew out of the tank onto a near by cabinet(2 feet away)..which had many glass vases on it. hit one with his tail and flew it across smashing into the table..then he flung off of the cabinet hitting the tank again on the way down, finally flopping on the floor, my dad quickly picked him up and put him back in the tank, grasping him tightly, he was still trashing, for those of you who don't know, a shark even that "small" is very very strong, so i made a decision and decided i'd had to put him in the big tank first, b/c he would nnot calm down in the 125,so i filled a trash can with tank water and put him in there..he is now acclimating and will go intot he big tank around 11 or so...i fear the worse..as some of you might know sharks have NO ribs so when they thrash, even inside the aquarium it is dangerous because they can dammage their organs easily..so you can imagine the dammage outside in the air, hitting things...i hope he won't die b/c of internal injuries or bleeding.. i hope he lives i have had him for years since he was a baby...he is in the trash cann acclimating, but breathing VERY fast..prob in shock..i hope he makes it...ill let you guys now...just thought id share.... ...most sharks that have this experience die, i hope i am lucky.....

Don't worry BA, I came home one day to find my 3 foot nurse shark on the garage floor when it was in the 90's outside. Bleeding from the gills and sticky to the touch. I put him back in his tank and he was eating again in a few hours.......Unbeleivable! I'll bet your shark will be fine....

That's terrible Bobby, hope he's doing good in the new tank. Unfortunately this same thing happened to my cousins leopard shark but he wasn't lucky enough to make it since it took him too long to put him back in. Hope yours makes it.

Hope he is ok. I know how strong those things can be. He is a really awesome shark. I saw him last time I was over there. His new home will certainly have plenty of room.
