Hi guys,
Hi as anyone ever used one of those kent float valve kits which come with the auto cutoff selenoid. I hooked mine up yesterday and it works well except the wast water does not shut off. Can anyone tell me what I did wrong.
I have it hooked up in the following manner.

Do you have an auto shut off pressue switch on you ro/di? You could be just forcing all the water around them membrane to the waste. You could put the selenoid on the input water instead, if you dont have the pressue switch.

I do have a auto shutoff with the float valve not the ro system itself.

I have it setup per instruction but, it seems to be allowing the waste water throught the system after the resevoir is full.

Did you wait a few minutes? Sometimes the waste water takes a few minutes for the pressure to get high enough, I guess. I have one that turns off slow. The waste line goes to my pond so no problem there. You could run the waste line to your yard plants or a tree.

Tim,
Thanks for the response. I waited ten minutes and it still was running. How do you have yours configured?
I even tried the instructions suggestions of bleeding the line from the bottom of the solenoid but, the weird thing is that no water comes out of the solenoid from the bottom only from the union that connects from the solenoid. Could this be an indication of a problem?

Is there anything in between the particle filters/carbon and the RO to shut off the flow? From the drawing, its hard to tell if there is or not. Basically you need some kind of switch/selenoid to shut off the flow either right before the ro membrane or before the whole unit. If you just have a selenoid on the output of the ro/di you will still flow through the ro waste line.

It would be easier for you to look at someone's who has their auto topoff working. Mine works, the waste water takes about 20 minutes to shut off, but it does shut down.

Wkopplin,
Do you have a pic of your Floatswitch install or is that an invite to check out your setup?
