I got home from the round rock game last night to find that my AC had quit. it was 90 in my house. the tank was only up to 84. I checked the tank this morning and found it was up to 88!

I had just bought a 1/4 horse chiller but hadn't hooked it up. Thank god Home Depot opens early .. I was able to get the chillier hooked up and running, the tanks down to 81...

This $600 chillier just saved me $1500 in live stock!

Did your tank increase from 84 to 88 overnight with the lights out??????
How hot was your house last night?!?!?!
Maybe your heater is stuck on?

Or are you saying the tank was 88 after the lights were on a while this morning???

88 with out the lights, protein skimmer, heater, sump light, and ph controller. the house stayed about 90-92 all night.

The house dropped to 87 this morning but but is now back up to 91. The tank is cycling the chiller on and off at 80. I went ahead and plugged every thing back in and turned on the lights.

I'm hoping I won't need a chiller on my 215 when it's up and running but I did go buy a 10,000 BTU portable ac unit from Sam's ($299 I think). That way if my ac goes out I can keep the tank and myself cool until it gets fixed. It's also great for adding a little more cooling power on those extra hot days which right now is everyday.

I like how he rushes to make sure his tank is cool and not the house :) dedication

Richard, I did the same (10,000 BTU unit in fish room), gonna be nice and cool in there 8)

Also, I have a central A/C duct in the ceiling that will be smack dab in the middle of my canopy. I was gonna move it but I figyred it couldn't hurt!
