i know my pair at night always sleep in one spot, like under a cave, so try to find out where he sleeps at night, at try to catch him that way, or get a fish trap and put sand in it... :-D

a little bit...they throw sand on my bottom rocks, but i have a cup mushroom, that is like 5 inches, and the female DUMPS sand on it along with the orange diamond goby, and it HATES it...so i have to scoop sand off of the mushroom everyday, but other than the mushroom they really don't c/ ne other trouble..mayb being a pair they are less biosterous???i don't know...

well..I agree, they only sprinkle sand on the lower part of the rocks, but i made the mistake of adding some cheap a.s sand, and it flies everywhere, should i add some better sand?

I had a dragon goby until recently. I've since taken him to the LFS after owning him for over a year. My goby would almost seem to go out of his way to make a mess of things. He would take mouthfuls of sand and swim to the top of the tank before raining the sand down on everything else. He was an equal opportunity slob, however, making sure to mess up everything near the bottom, too. He even dug many burrows, changing the landscaping significantly, sometimes to the point where the LR would fall down... I couldn't ever catch him either, until I moved my tank and had to empty it. I caught it at night, so he was asleep when I netted him. You shouldn't need o to go to those extremes, but at leat wait until it's asleep. Good luck.
