yea i test many incoming new fish like you do, and about half are around those low levels, just makes them ship better....i guess

Yeah, that would have been a big shock on that little angel. Like some of the other pygmies, they are more delicate that many fish. Hope it does well and can't wait to see it and how your tank is doing after all your "remodeling"! lol

Low salinity inhibits ich. I have used that for a non medication treatment and it works pretty well.

Just wondering how you acclimate your new fish?

I put them in a tupperware pitcher with about 4" of the LFS water. Then I drip water from the tank at 1 drop per sec until the water level doubles (about an hour or more).
