Ive always heard negative things about RIO pumps and other than clogging up faster than other pumps ive had I really havent had much problem with them til recently I seen a post about getting shocked by one. I think the tingling experience I have started having im my water was due to my rio pump. Any comments out there about this topic.

yes, MANY rios have shocked me, real bad,and real little, the slight tingling prob is the shock, you can get a grounding probe, or just take it out, IMO i would do both

They make very good doorstops, but that is about all I would use 'em for. I guess they could be good practical jokes. "Hey, stick your hand in here!" I just threw about four of those things away.

I'm in the process of replacing mine. Two down, one to go. I got shocked a couple of weeks ago.

I can't believe they haven't been sued yet. Next time someone has cardiac arrest near your tank, take 2 rio pumps, get the guy's hands on the pumps in the water, yell "clear" and throw the switch.
