It will be interesting to see and document the different growth rates of the monster vs the slimer ....

I'm guessing that the slimer will outgrow the monster
growth rate 3X that of the monster ....

.... sounds like a B movie ....

for sure!!! this will be going in my mb7 and im sure since the tank is so small i will need to frag everything often.....especially considering i will have 150 watts of mh PLUS 2x 32 watt actinic supplements!!! mwajajajaja! a monster tank for a monster coral! ;)

If that is one of the monster frags from me they grow very slow.

yeah it is, you told me that too but it seems to grow faster than my bali slimer??? at least it encrusts at the bottom faster. i think it may be too short of a time to really be able to tell.

you called it though tim, it took about a month to see any signs of growth. yknow im glad i listen to your advice ;)

I have two corals that turn purple with green polyps. One has thin branches and grows very fast, the other has thick branches and grows slow. The thick one is the one they labeled as the purple monster. Both are beautiful corals.

this pic shows the dieing tissue on the back side that i just now noticed, i hope the b-ionic supplementation will help with its healing, it doesnt seem to be spreading past this point the past couple of days. *knocks on wood*

steve, if you can set the white balance on your camera, set it by aiming into the tank, preferably at the white sand, and the pics shouldnt be as blue.

unfortunately this camera is crap for tank pics and i cant adjust any of the levels(its old), i was gonna ask on another thread, whats an awesome camera for macro and tank shots? i want to get into the picture taking hobby also and want to start saving.
