Waw playing around with the backside of my aquarium today and found that my algea blenny decided to go carpet surfing.
Must have happened over night because I saw him resting up on my feather duster just last night. Really thought it strange how the duster will allow these fish to rest on it etc., but if I even get close with my hand it retracts.

I wasn't aware of these being jumpers, anyone else ever have one do this. I had him for over six months before this happened.

Most blennies can be strong jumpers - can clear 5 or 6 inches of air to get over something. The only thing you can do is either cover the tank or figure out what's spooking them. Usually it's when the lights go on / off or another animal scaring them.

Also in the extreme jumper category - gobies, jawfish and hawkfish.

I was in moving some corals around and I must have spooked him that evening. Strange since it wasn't the first time I've moved stuff around with him in there. He had such great character to watch, not the most colorful but definately the most character.
