OK, who uses them and if you do are you pleased, or if you had them and took them down because you didn't like them why?

Any input is useful.

I have 7 moonlights in my 135g. Three are white and four are blue. I love them, especially when all the lights in the house are off. My corals love'em. With the blue ones, my coralbanded shrimp look awesome. I have two orange sun corals and one black one and they open great under these lights. I wouldn't have a reef without them.

:) I have five on my 100g and I like them so much that when they come on and all of my house light are off I just stare at my tank for hours...and now my wife REALLY thinks that i have lost it! :-D :-D

I guess my only complaint is...now there is not a time where I don't want to just stare at my tank. 8)

maybe I have lost it!!!

I finally put some on my tanks and I HATE them because now I stay up way too late looking for pods and other little critters. I have the blue ones and they are way cool when all of the house lights are off.

I have 16 of them on my 240. I really think they look cool, Just a dim blue across the tank. I hav'nt seen my corals do much more than before I had them. I think of them as night light, gives the tank more character. I like'm alot!

ive heard rumors about folks just throwing ungodly amount of led's inside their hoods in a honey comb pattern instead of mh or other lighting. i know ive seen a 5.5 gallon on nano-reef.com with like 10 of them and it was bright as all get out!!!

im interested in this moonlight thing also. where's a good place to find some diy parts and instructions to make some?

Steve Depending on how many you need, I might be able to help out. I have a few. Just need a power supply & a 1K ohm resistor.

Well, this is the reason I was asking about them. I'm thinking of going with this setup and just wanted to get feedback on them from who already has them.

Thanks for all the info and still don't see anyone that has been dissapointed in getting them.

I have the CSL Moonlite which has six moon lights and 4 96w PCs. The PCs are on two timers and the moonlights are on 24x7 - these are LEDs and will probably last longer than me.

I honestly don't know if the evening light does anything for coral growth or spawning. The primary benefit for me is that I can observe evening activity without a flashlight ... I assume my tank inhabitants appreciate this benefit too!
