I check my levels, and everything looks fine. I have 2 clowns and a wrasse in the tank.

One clown eats fine. He is super active and swims all over.

The other, kind of hides in the back, and he isn't eating well. At first, I just thought that it was part of their supmissive domain behavior to have to have one hide at home ( where they sleep ) and one swim around, but today, he was laying down, so I don't expect him to make it much longer. He did start to swim so maybe there is a chance...

Anyway, I have tried to feed him real shrimp, brine shrimp, sea weed strip, tetra flake, spirulina flake, and cyclopese. The other clown eats some of all of this, but this one doesn't really touch anything.

He has no visible signs of problems other than now he looks like he is breathing hard. No ich, or other blemish.

Is there something else I can try to feed him? Anything that I can do?

You can try adding some garlic to make him eat. This helps sometimes.

Good luck!

When my clowns turned in to a pair the male died soon after. The female beat him down so bad that he wouldn't eat. He would hide most of the time. He never really had any wounds or marks on him. Can you isolate him?

I can put him a the fuge... would that be ok? Its a hang on the back CPR.

I guess it is better than letting him die in the tank... I donno. I have a tank I could set up for him, but that would take some time.

Is powdered garlic ok or should I get some real garlic? ( Not that powdered galic is fake.. )

Get some real garlic and soak the food. You can use store garlic or go to the lfs and puchase some. I'd put him in the fuge!

Sounds great. I will do that. Thanks for all the help!

Is there anything inparticular that he would like better? I can buy some claims, squid, whatever. What would be best? What is he most likely to eat?

Ok.. the sick clown is in the fuge. I tried to get him to eat some brine shrimp and garlic, but he didn't seem interested. I'm thinking I will try again tonight after he settles down a little.

Bryan -
Have you tried a piece of sheet algae? Sometimes my clown (TR True Perc) acts like he doesn't really want to eat... and usually will go after it. I think clowns tend to prefer some veggie stuff from time to time...

Any luck so far?!

So far, he seems to be doing fine in the fuge. I bought some Life line carnivore and herbavore cubes today. I figured I would try that. It was sad how the other clown was swimming all over the tank trying to find the missing one.

Yeah! Glad to hear it....he may be just a little stressed out.
Sometimes it takes longer for others to adjust to their enviroment too...

Good luck and keep us posted! :-)
