I am looking to replace my 24GPD RO unit membrane and ran across this. Any thoughts?

I just purchased one of these a couple of weeks ago and it is a great product. Didn't have any problems with it at all and the directions were straight forward for the little that was required to finish installation.

Price is good, although I do not see a flush valve for the membrane. It would extend the life of the membrane itself. I use a AirWater&Ice Unit. They have a unit designed for the Home & Reef in one. Not as good a price but you know what they say, you get what you pay for.

My experience, HTH

I've got this unit and have been extremely happy with it. I agree with Robert, "You get what you pay for" You see people everyday in this hobby buy CHEAP stuff and get crap! Walter at AirWater&Ice was great. I needed some strange hook-up part and he sent it to me for free. I doubt an Ebay purchase would help out much if there is an issue.

Here's another seller on ebay that has the flush valve in place already. I use this one at home for my system and have had no problems with it either. Both systems use standard filters that you can pick up anywhere. The other one you listed I bought and installed at my in-laws two weeks ago but it didn't have the DI since it was strictly for drinking water.

thanks for all the input. I just can't fathom spending 48$ for a membrane for my current system (24GPD) when i can spend a little extra and upgrade. anyone know a place with inexpensive membranes?

I bought this unit on e-bay "USA 110GPD RO+DI REVERSE OSMOSIS WATER FILTER" should be here sometime this week, it has an "autoflush" feature. :) Total price $130...

Is that the one from aquasafeofcanada. If so that's the one I'm using except I just got the 85GPD unit. I ended up getting just the RO unit from filterdirect for my inlaws. Both were very good quality and used standard size filters. Biggest diff between the two is with filterdirect you don't get the autoflush/backpressure valve and the connections are different. Auquasafeofcanada uses a quick connect type and filterdirect is a compression style connector.

I will be ordering an airwater ice filter replacement kit in july, and they sell a nice DI stand up add on kit for those of us with lesser units... I am getting one with a color change cartridge.

I am working on a deal here to get RO units and replacement filters from a local distributor at wholesale prices. I work with someone that was formally in sales in the RO business that is hooking me up. Hopefully we can get some group orders put together.

we just purchased the "USA 110GPD RO+DI REVERSE OSMOSIS WATER FILTER" unit and are having a really hard time getting the membrane to goin in 1/2 inch, lol... wont go past 1/4th inch... is there any way when we get this thing put together to test the water to make sure its actually removing everything before we start mixing it with salt?? Anybody have any suggestions on how to get it past the 1/4 inch ??

Call the place you purchased it from and ask for help. AirWaterIce helped me over the phone. Plus they sent me a free TDS meter to check the output.

That's strange if it's the one from filterdirect, the one I got had the membrane installed already. When I bought the one from Auqasafeofcanada they shipped it seperate, but I had no problem putting it together. It should only go in one way also.
