What can I do to get rid of this brown or reddish brown stuff starting to cover my sustrate?Any reccomendations would be appreciated.

Is you tank farely new? If so it is probably just a stage it is going through. If it is cyano bacteria you might need to increase your flow in the tank. Of course all parmeters are in check.

Tank up since last Aug. Recently went fallow for 6wks.Have a Fluval 404,1 Maxijet 1200 and 2 Penguin 550's

bob run up to cb pets and get some nassarius snails, they will stir your sand up, and improve the sand bed health... before doing that however, make sure your water is spot on. I had a patch of cyano starting up when I put my nasarius snails in, they turned that area of the sand bed over in less than a day, and the patch hasn't cropped up else where.

Thanks for the quick advice.Not sure where cb pets is though.Does aquatic warehouse have nasarius snails?

CB pets is a quick drive up 281, exit 46, turn left, in the back corner of the HEB shopping center, it's EASY to find, HEB is the first stop light on 46, can't miss it. I am not sure about any of the other stores, I haven't been to them in a while, CB Pets is closest to me, and they order everything I want, so I really have no need to go elsewhere. they actually have quite the selection of reef janitors right now.

Just got back from cb pets.Thanks for the advice,nice drive 15 or so miles.Got 10 nassarius snails,acclimating as we speak.
