A little warning! I know I mentioned at the start of this thread to only buy these if you are sure you can keep them, but what I failed to mention is to be sure your powerheads all have good sized sponges on them or if these gals move they are dead if they get near an intake. They can block overflows, intakes, and so on so be sure you have them protected. Sometimes they will let go and drift also so don't keep putting them back in the place you like. They will go were they want to be. within a couple days they should be settled into a nook they like and stay put. My other ones have been in the same place for a year, I'd like them out front, but the side of the reef is OK with me as long as they are thriving. One of our members lost a pump because of these anemones, so be warned and lets learn from what happened. Look at them often for at least a week. Good luck, and happy reefing.

So who got the one that looked like it was splitting? Curious to find out if it does split. Mine seems to have attached right where I wanted it in the center of the tank where this is a bit of an overhang to give some shade and shelter for it. It expanded right away and looks great!

ya anemones will go WHEREEVER they want,lol...kinda pointless to try to make them "sit still"....

I got the one that looked like it would split, but it had an expensive accident.

BA - yeah I know, I'm sure this is only temporary! lol, It will probably end up in the back of my tank with my other anemone.

Blake - An expensive accident? That doesn't sound good!

Trust me, it is not good. Main pump and reactor pump are fried. One of the anemones got sucked into the strainer on my 75 prop tank and blocked it. It overflowed. A small design problem to my setup was discovered. If the 75 overflows, it will spill water directly onto my calcium reactor pump, which promptly died. The sump must have run dry sometime last night and by this morning, the main pump had been running dry for at least several hours. It is pumping water, but is making all sorts of strange noises and will probably be dead soon. I left it off for a few hours to see if it would sound normal again, but it didn't.

I am ordering new pumps to be shipped overnight. About a $550 accident as far as I can figure.

Blake - wow, sorry to hear that. It's good to figure out flaws in your system, just not that way!

These need to be picked up soon! I am not reponsible for anything that happens from here on out. Although I will take the best care possible, sometime things happen and no refunds will be given! These are the last five left and who knows when we can get replacements if needed.... Sorry about being firm, but you've already paid and waited? Don't you want it? If you've changed your mind there are people on this forum that would be happy to remove the burden of having to keep a RBTA from you.....LMAO.......

I'll be back in San Antonio tomorrow (Wednesday) Who do I need to see to pick up my RBTA? I should be able to get out of the office about 5pm (Medical Center area) and then heading towards Universal City. But it certainly can be later than that too.

Thanks,
Dave Johnson

Is someone babysitting an anemone for you?
That's what I'm trying to find out. I paid for it in early June and was on vacation when they happened to arrive. I saw that BA mentioned they were all gone so I'm trying to determine where mine went.

Cheers,
Dave Johnson

that sucks dave.
Yeah, but he was trying to do me a favor and hold them while I was out of town so it's just bad luck for both of us, though he lost way more than I did.

Cheers,
Dave
