One of my son's stupid friends put his finger in my tank while I was feeding them. The Blue Throat latched on and the kid yanked him out of the tank. He (the fish) hit the floor! I got him back in the tank fast.
You should see the kids finger!
The trigger seems to be fine. He's making his nightly swims at the front of the tank.

I'm glad you were able to get your fish back into the tank with apparently minimal ill effects on your fish. It really bugs me too when visitors (or my kids) bang on the glass trying to get the fish to "do something." I do enjoy honest interest in my tank and curiousity about it's inhabitants, upkeep, etc, though. It's gives me alot of satisfaction to have someone appreciate my hard work.

I do enjoy explaining to friends and neighbors about everything that lives in the tank. I just told this kid "He Bites", when BAM! bloody finger and fish on the floor.

You would think those sharp teeth would discourage any kids or anyone for that matter from putting fingers in the tank. I remember when I was a kid my friend's parents had a large clown trigger and I asked whether or not he would bite if I stuck my finger in there. He told me why dont you find out. All it took was for that thing to look at my finger and I was outta there!!
On a serious note I hope the kids finger is ok. Animal bites of any kind can lead to an infection so his/her parents should keep an eye on it. I see lots of dog bites and some cat bites in my line of work and its not so much the bite itself but the bacteria that lingers in the mouth of the critter that causes the problems. Cats are the worst because when they bite they have thin sharp hypodermic like teeth that almost always go all the way to the bone. Cat bites are usually always treated with antibiotics. I havent seen any fish bites so I couldnt tell you much there.

He's a mean kid. We did clean it up and put Band-Aid on it.
I just fed the trigger and he ate about 8 krill. He wasn't as eagar to come get it. I enjoy hand feeding him. He used to take each piece from me.

I made a photo album that is small enough for even children. I have a picture, a name, list of what it eats, it's origin and of course my name for it. In no time the children are showing me a pic, pointing and saying "that must be him in the tank. Did you know that it eats..and it use to live in....and it might get to be this long?" I love seeing their expressions when they play hide and seek with my fish. Yes of course they all want to feed them. Rule number 1 here, don't put anything in my tanks or you go home.lol
