Got a Foxface Lo this week.I notice in the AM when I turn on lights,he is pale, almost white with some brown spots. His color returns within a few minutes. He is eating dried seaweed, mysis shrimp and Formula two flakes. Is this normal?

fish change colors when the lights are turned off. its part of thier defense for hiding in the reef. my rabbitfish changes colors also depending on its mood.

Of all the fish I've had in my reef tanks, the foxface is the all time prize winner for color changes. Mine will turn spotted with all lights out. It will also change colors with lights on and depending if it's napping or not. They are a very cool fish and while I have a foxface in both my tanks they both react the same way.
