Hey I notice in your sig you say specialized predator tanks... I have a chiclid tank with 2 oscars... its a 125 gal 2 oscars, 1 jaguar chiclid, 2 orange color with the big knot on thier head, and a pacasamus. I hear of people putting small amouts of salt in the water. What would be your recommendation on something like that?

Not any more. Stewy dosent like to dance. Careful, he might make a ray gun and voporize you. LOL. As Stewy would say..
But for the bigger fish, you have to be there when they are comeing in. I cant remember the times of year though. You can fish the Pier's and catch Black tip sharks and usually nice big Red's. If you fish the Jetties you can catch Reds and Trout. For the big fish, toss some small lines to catch bait fish. Like croakers, mud minnows and perch. About the size of your hand. Hook them on and throw them out. This works best in the surf and on the peirs. FYI, the trout love those little crabs the size of an old silver dollar or smaller. Get them off the beach at night. Live shrimp works great too with a rattle bobber. Most of the good fishing in the jettie and surf is at night. I usually start fishing at about 8pm or so and fish until sunup.
You might get lucky though. Sometimes big sharks like Tigers come in close. Real close. Go to the pier and ask the people that work there what is being caught and what they are catching them with. They give you the fish, bait and times of day to catch them. Invaluable source of info.
ENJOY.. LOL And have some fun doing it.

You do not want to put salt in your tank with the oscars. You have South American cichlids. People with African Cichlids will use salt in their tanks to a limited degree, mostly to up the pH. African tanks are not uncommon to be around 9.0 pH. South American cichlids need much lower pH.
