Hi all -

Too long since I have posted. Anyway, I am moving and looking at getting a new pump for my 75 show in the new place. I currently have a Little Giant and it is terribly loud. Can someone recommend some good pumps out there - looking for quiet and efficient. I am looking for a pump for my wet-dry (not Fluval, etc...) Thanks!

My ehiem 1260 has been pretty good.

Yeah, I like those too. The CSL velocity pumps are the quietest high power pumps I've ever seen, but they run pretty hot. Even though CSL is out of business, champion pucked up the velocity pump line.

Yeah - running hot is a problem I am also having with my current pump. I will take a look. Thanks for the input!

Someone on RC was selling 2 Velocity T-4's. 100 bucks each, thinking of buying one as a backup. No complaints on the one I have right now. It moves lots of water.

the pan world pumps are great!

I currently use one for my return and it is VERY quiet, powerful somewhat efficient and it only raised my temp 2 deg.

For a return, you could try the one that's equivilent to the iwaki 30rxt, non pressure running around 1000gph. The blueline number is HD30x, don't know what the pan world number is.
