I just discovered the turbo snails I got from reeftopia the other day are eating all my coralline! I don't have enough coralline to feed the little gluttons...it's starting to regrow, but they're eating it much faster than it can grow. I didn't realize turbos would do this, and I never saw the previous bunch from AW doing this. Any ideas?

i never saw mine eating coralline but i do remember i went to the coast and saw all these turbo snails all over the rocks so i took 10 or 15 back home with me. dump them in the tank and thought wow look how much money i saved. at that time snails were going for 2.50 each. about 4 or 5 hours later i saw the coast snails on top of my store bought snails and thought wow whats going on? the coast snails were eating the store bought snails right out of there shells. ya i saved a lot of money all right. NEVER BRING COAST SNAILS BACK WITH YOU. i got rid of all them. lost 7or 8 turbos :cry2: the things you lurn trying to save a buck

Dan,
There's a snail that is common along the coast that eats other mollusks and looks like a turbo. I can't recall their name off the top of my head. It basically has a drill bit for a mouth and drills through the shell of clams and snails and sucks them out of their shell. You commonly see clam shells along the cost with a very clean hole drilled through the shell. What you are seeing is one of their victims.
