I reaquascaped my tank and covered up the spot where my pretty green majano anemones live, so they are migrating to other parts of the rock and potentially to other rocks! the time has come for me to quit putting it off, and DECLARE WAR!!!!
anyone in Austin have any joes juice I can borrow buy or beg???? thanks!

AquaTek and Austin Aquriums keep it in stock all the time.

Why don't you just take that rock out? The joe's juice is not going to be a permanent solution. BTW, you can just go to the store, buy some pickling lime and lemon juice, mix it together, and guess what you got? (At least that's the speculation; the stuff has a ph of over 10)

ok will try the pickling lime thing. will it kill it completely? if not, then I might have to take the rock out. BUT I JUST GOT DONE reaquascaping my tank!!!!! (WHINE!!!!!)

matt, i dont want to take the rock out and sacrifice it. (its a big piece) and i paid a lot for it and its got some good (other) life on it. besides I JUST reaqascaped my tank. I HATE reaquascaping my tank.
brewercm, ive heard wal mart carries pickling lime but im not sure about the walmarts near you.

oh yeah i meant to ask, should i fresh-squeeze the lemon juice, or can i just use that stuff they sell in the little plastic lemon? thanks.

Fresh is always best, but the little plastic lemon would work.
By the time you track everything down you could just spend the $7 and buy the stuff. I tried lime and water, it didn't work as well as Joe's juice. In fact it did NOTHING. Joe's Juice kills them on contact!

Thanks saltcreepette, I'll check some of the Wal-Marts in SA.
StephenA, unfortunately we no longer have Albertsons in SA anymore and none of the HEBs here carry it.
Thanks for the info, I have some that are bothering one of my SPS colonies and want to try to get rid of at least those.

I always found it at the HEB on S. New braunfels, just off of 37 south of downtown.
Saltcreepette, just take the rock out, put it in a bucket of salt water, kill the **** things, scrub off all remains of their tissues, maybe spread a little pickling lime/lemon juice in the area, (to kill all traces of daughter colonies too small to see) use a magnifying glass to make sure you got ALL of it off, and put it back in. What's the big deal? Once these things have spread, you'll be really sorry you didn't deal with it when they were all on one rock. Sorry!

I would temporarily take the rock out and clean it off, too. Joe's Juice is not totally harmless to the aquariums (just ask the two cleaner shrimp that, in seperate instances, died within minutes of me dosing with Joe's).
