I do not know much about moon lights. So to those of you who do, are these any good?

I dont know about that but I built my own at home. I used 468nm wavelength lights I got from Radio Shack. I just soldered them up to some resistors and an old iomega jazz drive power supply.

I did the same as David. It cost me about 20 Bucks or less. I've made several of them. I've used acrylic and a kit box from Radio Shack.

The best LED's to use are 500TB4DF Super Blues. You can get them at www.lc-led.com 470nm, 2,600 mcd.

actually the best would be the blue luxeon star led, 470nm, 30 lm, a quick conversion of 2600 mcd to lm would be .207 lm, that means the luxeon is 145 times brighter, o yeah they kick ace.

ok all that seems way over my head.
are any on ebay any good?
if not what retail one is good but not super expensive?
If the answers to those questions are no and none, they can someone make one for me with several lights for a 6' hood? I will pay of supplies and time.
Thanks, Steve

Steve I have sixteen of them, blue leds. I dont know what wavelength there on, they do look nice though. I could probably set you up some with a 12v supply. I used zip ties w/rings on them to mount to my light rack. The have a good spread to them. Kinda have to play with them after you mount, you can angle them the best way.

It was just some unit that the guy made out of LED's. Nothing fancy, but they were cheap.

I ordered these too. The price was right and the tank looks great at night time.

I tried to take a pic, but it came out mostly black. Ya cant use the flash ... any ideas?
