Does anyone know how the 13,000Ks look compared to the 20,000Ks. I know the 10,000Ks are white and the 20,000Ks are blue, are the 13,000Ks somewhere between?

Nice Bright white is what I have noticed. They also have alot more PAR than the 20K's. Seems to be a very intense crisp white color. MegaChromes are the ones I have seen.

So do you need to compliment them with actenic PCs?

The ones I have seen hav'nt had supplements. Pretty nice light tone. I dont think you would really need them. Of course they are nice to have.

I would definately recommed supplements. I prefer the URI VHO actnics. They work great for a dusk to dawn effect. IMHO they are better than PC's. I use AB 20K, crisp bright blue, and they work great for me, but I have heard good things about the megachromes.

I think the Iwasaki 50,000K rates inbetween what most call a 10,000K and a 20,000K despite it's name.

I've had 400W 20,000K radiums and loved the color, but even having two of them over a 45 gallon tank (pendants) I wanted more light.

My favorite color and brightness combo I have seen is the 150W 50,000K. The corals look good and grow well.

i have the 13kk giesemann 150w over a nano cube. it is more of a crisper white than the 10kk, but adds a slight blueish tint to the tank. i highly recommend the 13kk megachrome giesemann lamp over any other lamps pit there, since it's de, your also gettin about 2X as much par.

I had to change out my bulbs so I bought new XM's, wouldn't fire. Rather than buy new AB's which is what I was running I bought a couple Megachromes. These are the best looking lights I have ever used. I have had color changes for the better in my corals in just a few day! I went back and bought another one for my tank in the house! I'm hooked, until something better comes out, MegaChomes will be my lamp of choice! 250w DE's.

Ditto what tim said - I know the day you came to pick up that fish I had just rearranged the tank but the lights I have over it are the 13k megachromes. I can get by without the actinic and feel it's a really nice balanced color with good intensity so far.
