Has anyone ever used a product like the Natural Wave Timer? (http://www.marinedepot.com/md_viewItem.asp?idproduct=AS4111) I currently have my return pointing at 2 powerheads on the other side of the tank. I'd like to make the water currents more random. I could add this product and a 3rd powerhead.

Do you think it would work?

yes, i have one that's not being used at the moment, they work, but really drops the pump flow rate by 20% in most cases. it could be designed abit better for cleaning, which is why i'm not using it....

I use 2 SQWD's. I have had great luck with them and even like them better than my redsea pro wavemaker. You should drop by and see how much flow there is coming out of my mag 12 through these it probably does drop the output a little but I can't tell.

I like my SQWD. It is probably the best bang for the buck.

I have one SQWD in a 6 foot long tank. It doesn't do real well for that size tank, I really need 2 of them. Lots of blast near the nozzel, not much real flow develops. I'm pushing about 1250 to 1300 gallons thru it. Still will use my Red Sea wave maker since the SQWD didn't do the trick over the 6 foot distance. I may add another SQWD eventually with a slightly smaller pump, like a mag 9.5 in hopes that it will stay on a little longer per side. Blane Perun at Farms@TheSea was selling them for $35.00, so in the match or beat deal Aquatic Warehouse offers, you might be able to get one from them at that price as well.
