I have been planning this project for over a year. I just got a camera and decided to share my progress with everyone. It is a 200gal Oceanic (7x24x24) brick style (no center brace, 3/4" glass). two wave2ks, 50gal refugium, lifereef 24 skimmer, iwaki md40rlxt return and 3-250HQI DE PFO pendants with ushio 10k bulbs.

My idea is consists of 5 fish, open aquascaping and very little CC sandbed. I will depend on skimming and mechanical filtration via 100 micron filter socks, and macroalgae for nutrient export.

I just painted the wall and am waiting for the carpenter to fit the cabinet doors prior to tank placement.

I will keep everyone posted

My set up is similar to that. Hope you put in a drain. I had a chingon spill on my hardwood floors (wife got so ****ed). Try to install a liner on the floor underneath the stand before you put in all of your pumps.

Keep us posted.

You cant actually see it but I have a 2" drain, water supply and two 180cfm exhaust fans venting to the outside. May I ask the reason for the liner? I did notice a pic showing your set up. Is your tank small or do you have 12 ft ceilings? Nice house design similar to mine.

I did the water supply and the drain too, but I forgot to put the liner to contain any spills and also to chanel the water into the drain. Instead, the water ended up spreading outward through the cabinet and onto the floor. That's why I suggested the liner. The picture I took is several months old, while my house was still under construction. The tank is a 6ft, 150g RR with all my stuff underneath in the cabinet. The ceiling directly in front of the tank is 12 ft, good eye. The room I'm standing in while I took the picture vaults up to 30ft. I'll upgrade my pictures soon. It looks much better and proportional now.

Who is your builder BTW? Gotta love that cantera. Pinon?

Below is a pick showing a little more progress. I set the tank and hooked up my lighting. I am using a Lutron in wall digital timer to control the HQI lights and the two fans. It works perfect. Way cheaper than having to buy 3 PFO digital timers. If you notice, I placed the ballasts in the nitch above for humidity heat reasons. I will camoflauge them late with fake plants. I am in the plumbing stages so I am looking for 1" true union ball valves. Anyway, enjoy!

I finally got the tank filled this weekend and got the wave2k running. I ordered the spacers to push the units a little further down the tank in order for the wave to sweep the bottom. Just added the 30gal refugium that I bought from alamo. The three blue acrylic sides confine the light to that area only. I am still finishing the sump so the tank is not quite up and running but I plan on doing this today. I have taken video of the wave 2k in operation (avi format) but I dont know how to post it. Anyway, I will continue to post updates. I will introduce some of my old live rock (rubble) to cycle the tank. The 1/4 inch HDPE for the BB is awesome.
