Another new LFS in SA

Papa Jim's in SA has reopened with a new owner. Papa Jim's is FW only, as of now. They seem to be carrying a pretty good selection of cichlid's and koi as well. The prices on tanks and equipment seemed to be very good. The owner, Letty, said they may add SW this summer. Other than some Mag 2's I didn't see any equipment that would be useful to a SW hobbyist. I invited Letty to get on the here and introduce herself. Those of you that do some FW as well might find it worth checking out if you are down in that part of town.

Papa Jim's is the only LFS that I know of on the southside. It is located on the corner of S. Flores and Southcross.

Wow, I remember them being around when I was in school (middle and high). Amazing how some of these places are opening back up.

I hope she does well. The original owners were bizzare to say the least. I only went in there twice and they would not talk to me or acknowledge that I was there. They did stare at me so hard I could feel it! I guess I was not welcome since I did not have any tattoos or wear any pentagrams... :roll2: :?:

I talked to Letty for quite a while. She was definitely not bizarre. I didn't notice any pentagrams or tattoos.

I think Papa Jim still runs the botanica next door.

Yeah, I think it was "Papa Jim". I never encountered a woman there before.
