I would send Dan a PM about an overflow box. He builds excellent ones! You can put a durso standpipe in the outer box and it will be nice and quiet. I'm not too familiar with the tidepool, but if it's like the CPR one, it's probably not as reliable as Dan's, which are much more like the lifereef overflows.

With skimmers, I recommend mine (haha) but maybe one of those would be too big for your sump. You need about a square foot of sump space, realistically. (6.5"X 11", with a big gate valve sticking out of one side) They really do the job, though.

I used a SOS before on my 65 and couldn't have been happier. Just make sure to have enough flow going thru it to keep bubbles from forming in the tube. It never failed and never lost siphon even after long power outage ( 18 hrs once ). They come with a pre-filter which I took out b/c I got tired of having to clean it. That didn't affect the overflow in any way. These overflows are quiet because they come with a built in adjustable stockman to keep it quiet. I can't remember how long I had it but I think it was over a year. Before that I used the CPR and some other brand (can't remember now). As for skimmer you could get one of Matt's which I just got as well or a kent nautilus like I did before. Both are great skimmers.
