I am putting together a group order for some tank raise A. Percula clowns. I do not have a definite price yet but I expect to have one soon, depending on the quantity we want. These fish will be ordered through Aquatics Warehouse on or around the 26th of this month and recieved the following Tuesday.
Post here if you want to get onboard or if you have any questions. I am still working on the payment details and will post an update tomorrow.

I expect them to be 3/4" - 1 1/2" but I am sure we can arrange for you to get the 1 of the largest one that come in, if that will help. I will hopefully have a price tomorrow.

IMO tank raised would be hardier and wont take any "Nemos" from there homes. greenmako, I will mention that we need one larger one for you.
Where is Pet Warehouse? I have never heard of that one.

Aquatic Warehouse also has true percs for $13, but they are wild caught. Aquacultured are more expensive.

mhaynes01, I may get burned for this but I plan on putting my 3 in a 20 gal so somebody key in if a 15 gal is too small please.
BTW, do you have anything else in there now? I could also arrange to meet Austinites half way if transportation is an issue.

A 3 gallon tank is enough for a couple clowns. They are typically happy in one little spot. I have 2 of instars awesome maroons and they live in an area about 4 inch cubed. Rarely venture out into the rest of the tank.

Sorry I have not updated, storm knocked out my internet service. I will probably have to delay this order till the 28th since we STILL dont have a price. I apoligize for any inconvenience, I figured it would be easier dealing with AW than this. I WILL have a price by tomorrow evening or the order will have to wait. I am very sorry for the delays and pray I have this taken care of soon.

Hey guys,
this is Joey from over at Aquatic Warehouse. Let me first apologize for the delay in this order. Clamfan has been trying to put this together excellently and I wish we didn't have this delay in the pricing. I will post later today (Tuesday) when I speak with Tamer about the pricing again. Thanks for all the support.

OK, got an update for you guys.
The pricing on the True Perc's is going to be $19. Please keep in mind these are captive bred clowns. The clowns will be availabe 1 week from Thursday. Please PM Clamfan with how many you want and get your money to him. We will be ordering these on Thursday (2 days). We will setup an isolated tank at the store so everyone can pickup their clowns on that Thursday of Friday. Thanks again

Why not try ORA, they have them for $8 each plus shipping. If we get 20 clowns we are only talking about $225 with shipping that is $11 per clown. If you sell them for $16 that is still $100 profit for a quick order pre-sold.... Just a thought...

Alex does need some more fish :D AW and I have decided to go through ORA so we will be placing the order on the 6th of may instead of this Thursday so more people can get on board. This will push the arrival date to the thirteenth of May. I apoligize any inconvenience caused by this delay. Send me a PM or post here if you are interested.

That is standard retail price.... I thought we'd get a discount for a group buy.... I'm not trying to stir up any problems or argue, but it just doesn't seem like a discount.

3 conspecific clowns in a small space is NOT going to work for long. 2 will pair up and kill or harass the third. Tim, of course you're correct in terms of their space requirements, but don't forget to mention that you need a large enough volume to provide adequate bio filtration. Nitrogen compounds in a 3 gallon volume will build up really fast.

Yes Matt your right, I was refering more to they don't need much space to be happy. I wouldn't place them in a tank smaller than 10 gallons and you'd better be pretty good at salt water. Salinity changes and PH swings can take these little guys out fairly easy. A 3 gallon probably would not keep up with gas exchange and even if it could it would need a lot of water changes which would stress them out. Great Point Matt.

If that is what You are after don't order from ORA. The clowns they sell as true percs look more like ocellaris. My Experience with them in the past.

When they are young they closly resemble the false perc.s but tank bred will have a slightly different appearence than wild caught. Like here http://liveaquaria.com/product/prod_Display.cfm?siteid=21&pCatId=756

just wanted to let yall know ORA usually only has mis barred true perculas for sale unless they updated there availability. so you might want to check with AW to see what they say, so yall don't end up with regular A.ocellaris or a bunch of mis barred clowns.

I have to second Josh's statement. Most importantly, if you have no intention of joining the order, you do not need to be voicing your opinions, especially if they are negative or non-productive. As with all orders, if you do not like the pricing or the product, feel free to go and start your own order to get what you want. It is obvious that ClamFan has made his decision and knows what he wants. Please show some respect for the other members of this club and for sponsors that are trying to help the club.

Just so that those who ordered did not get disapointed, A. percula take and long time to color up to their final color. Young A. percula looks like mis-fits with misbars. Many will develope and look like true Percula after 9-12 months.
