I would bring a cast net and large hand net (fine mesh) and head for the jetties. Lots of small fish, critters. I would be careful what you bring back, and definitely quarantine before putting in a running tank, for at least 4-6 weeks.

Personally, I'd be mighty careful what I put in my tank from PortA. Prob a lot of aggressive critters. :-o

wow, lol no that would be way to big for my tank, i would need any type of catshark, or a little yellow ray, any other shark off of port A would get way too big for a 375

I should have known about this last saturday. My 8yo caught a small Bonnet Head Shark. About 18", too small and had to be released, but the Black Tip Shark was legal and stayed for dinner.

Black Tip is considered the best eating shark species. I soak it in salt water overnight before I cook it.

Firm, boneless, white meat. Excellent on the grill! Mine was only 28" so I just filet him. Some of the better Seafood places do offer Shark Steaks.

The key to cooking shark is to do it quickly. If you grill it, do it on a very hot fire so that it is seared. Otherwise it can come out very dry.
