I ordered a Small Blue Throat Trigger for my tank and a LARGE trigger showed up. I wanted a 3" and a 7" showed. His size got me thinking, what's the bigest fish I can keep in my 120? There are only 4 other small fish in the tank. The rest is inverts.

Still not sure if I'm going to keep the trigger.

That would depend on how much bigger its going to get and how many other fish and their sizes you have in the tank. I would be concerned with the trigger eating the inverts, especially shrimp or crabs.

All the research I've done on the Blue Throat indicates that he is a surface feeder (plankton). And tends to leave tankmates alone. I've spent about 3 months looking and reading about them. He'll get about 9 in max. Which I think is about as big as my tank can take. I found many cases where people have kept these with clams, shrimp, crabs with no issue. However; you can also find people out there keeping Clown Triggers in Reef tanks. (bad idea)
