What is the best leather coral for hosting Clownfish

Hi guys,
I plan on adding clownfish to my reef in the coming months and
I have read that as an alternative to hosting in Anenome's Clownfish will host in Leather's. What is the best Leather coral to get for this purpose?

My clowns often host in leathers. The clowns love it, but the leathers hate it. Over time the polyps stop extending and the leathers have slowly died. Just personal experience...

My maroon pair likes xenia elongata and the xenia could care less.

So if I would like to have a pair of clowns host in something in my reef tank what should I get that will not cause problems in my reef tank?

Great, I already have some Xenia that I got from GaryP at the meeting. I posted last week that they were not doing so hot but, they have rebounded since then. I lost a couple of stalks but, the majority is doing great.

Mine host in a big hairy mushroom. I got a real nice one from aquatic warehouse and the clowns love it. They do not bother the mushrooms at all.

My clown hosts in my xenia like Instars. I was meaning to post a picture in my gallery but that one didn't make it yet. I'll try again tonight, there's a good picture of him peaking out through the stalks. He used to crawl up under my purple mushrooms before I got the xenia in there.

My elongata do not mind the clowns, but my pulsing xenia shrivel up over time. Be careful of big hariy mushrooms - my elephant ear mushroom has closed up on my clowns before. Had a clown tail sticking out of the bubble..... Lots of LPS make good hosts. If the clowns begin to get aggressive with the coral it may start to harm it (during mating time).

Maroon host in a purple long tentacle anemone.

A good sized mag float. Or a toadstool leather which ever you prefer.

mine won't host in anything. i have xenia, leathers and huge mushrooms. i have three perks

Have your thought about a Colt coral? My Maroon pair love to host in the Colt & it doesn't care one bit.
