I am pretty sure that I have a mantis shrimp in a breeder clown holding system tank that I have had setup for years. Unless clowns snap and I don't think they do. Trouble is there has been no source or addition to this tank that could have carried such a thing. Must have come as a larva when the tank was first set up. Anyway, can't see it or find it. Does anyone have an automatic kind of trap to catch it or some idea? I have no idea what part of the system he is in as its divided. By the sounds of the snap he is starting to get large enough that the clowns may be in danger.

They had the mantis traps at Texas Tropical a while back. I didn't use it, I ended up finding out which rock was his home and pulled it out for a FW dip until he came out and straight into the waiting net.

would it be funny if I said to paint a hermit crab on your finger and stick it in the tank? :)

This article might help, this guy seemed to catch his mantis pretty easy... after learning a little. :)
