Went to seaworld the other day and saw my donations. The gigas is really getting big! Looks to me well over two feet. The two squamosas on the left and right of the gigas were 8 inches when I donated them. they look to be at about a foot now!

The clam tank and the coral tank are both 500 gallons I think.

The last time I was at Sea World was the meeting just before you donated them. Is the clam tank the one on the right w/ the surge device?
I just remember the wonderful acro tables they had growing in the left tank.
It looks too cool Jim.

If I'm remembering correctly from the last time I was there I think the clam was in the one with the surge device. Sure would like to have that kind of surge device in my tank.

I beleieve both tanks have a surge system. I know the 4 frag tanks on the third level do.

Jim,
Having just been to SeaWorld for the first time this week, I'd like to say thank you for donating those clams for everyone to appreciate.
I was surprised and a little disappointed that there were so few tanks devoted to reef habitat at SeaWorld...but seeing some unusually large clams helped make up for it.
For those of us that are new here like myself, can you share with us why and how you donated them? Do you think it would ever be possible to start a MAAST sponsored reef tank at SeaWorld?

It is hard to say because there is not enough details. Was it an Acropora or something else? Sorry, not enough detail. Stylophora can have color like that, or brighter.

that would be nice.... especially if they donated the use of the shark tank, like the one with the tunnel! yeah baby!

If MAAST is going to sponsor a Tank it should be at the SA ZOO. I was there last Weekend and it was a sad sight. The "Reef" was mostly half dead corals with silver xenias all over. The Fish Only Tank had a Ragel Tang in it that started to look like the one that aquatic warehouse saved. Seaworld has plenty of money compared to the Zoo.

I agree with Kai...why sponsor the people who already are on top of things?

I agree also with kaiser - was at the zoo last weekend....wasn't too appealing - and it was packed with people.

Jim, that clam looks very happy, well they all do. Great pics of the clams too.
I'm with you the coral you circled looks to me to be pocillopora.

Hey Jim, trying to hang in here. My back is in bad shape and am waiting some news about whether more surgery is indicated. I hope not but if it'll help in any way I'll do it.
How are things with you??? You didn't kick the dog did you??
