Bought a diamond goby a few days ago. He is a really cool fish. He adds a little character to the tank. But how do you feed him when he tends to hide out in his make shift fort. When I feed my other 3 fish, they usually don't let anything drop to the bottom. I don't want to loose him for lack of feeding, any suggestions on how to feed the diamond goby. Thanks again.

If you have a healthy, active live sand bed then the goby will shift through the sand and eat from the bed. Also, try to use a turkey baster, or similar device, to shoot some meaty food down to the bottom towards his home.

Good luck! These are awesome fish! Mine is fat and happy. After a while he may become less secretive and come out to get food at feedings more aggressively.

Marineland Bio-Blend has a new SW food for carnivores. It is a sinking pellet and the bottle has a red cap and a picture of a Clown Trigger on the front. We have been trying a sample at AA and discovered that the sand sifting gobies love it. Might give it a try.

I have one and really like him. He makes a big mess of my sand. I have never had any problems getting him to eat. Flake, bloodworms, brine shrimp, anything...

thanks guys, turkey baster works great and pellets work good too. Also started to baster feed my shrimp and serpent star which was getting kinda thin i think. Feeding the star is cool to watch since i never really see it except for an arm hanging out of the rock. Goby says thanks also.
