From the time the eggs hatch, approimately how long does it take to grow to adult size? Our brine shrimp tank had an oops and we have hungry horses. Can't find a dealer that will overnight for tomorrow delivery. Any ideas or suggestions welcomed. I've been at this all day.

I think the problem you will have is that you would have to also culture the stuff the baby brine would need to eat.

Check out integrated culturing system.

Fintique in San Antonio usually has live brine. Do you know anyone coming this way? If not, you might check with them and see where they are getting their brine shrimp. They are listed on the pet store page here.

I have the 'culture'. Just didn't expect to use it NOW. I'll check out fintique. Thanks.

In culture, it takes 10 days, maybe 15 at the outside, to grow brine from hatch to adult size.

Thank you for information. I called Fintique, sadly they are not being supplied any right now either. Weather too cold to ship. That is the same answer I am getting everywhere. Sometimes I really dislike this hobby. My horses probably dislike me right now too.

You can look for ghost shrimps on grassy areas at any Resaca near you. The ghost shrimps can at least have your sea horses alive till you get the brine shrimp going.

I know it's a long drive, but Aquatek in Austin has some, as well as ghost shrimp.

This time around we have five beautiful h.Barbouri. I wiped out our entire herd several months ago because I let my emotions go. A pair that was delivered looked worse than any we had ever recved. Instead of careful quarentining I put directly in show tank. NO, no, no. I knew this. So we are rebuilding again.

I hadn't thought about ghost shrimp. Texas Tropical in SA carries them.
I don't know if they have the same shipping problems. You might give them a call.

Just had my order confirmed that the horses will feast on Tuesday around noon. Gary, I didn't know if they would have any small ones. Our ghost shrimp are too big for them. Thank you everyone for your support.
