I'm building a copy of a CPR Aquafuge and I need to get a couple of smaller bulkheads. Does anybody know anywhere in San Antonio that carries these? I'm only in town for a week over Spring Break so I don't want to have to order anything. Thanks alot.

Aquatic Warehouse is the only store I'll go to in San Antonio. I did get my bulkheads from them. Here is how the AdamFuge Pro turned out.

It does, I'm using it right now. The only thing I would do differently is use a larger bulkhead on the out flow so it would exit a little faster. I added an edge for it to rest on along the tank so it's not resting on the bulkheads completely. I'd say it was worth it considering the CPR ones cost between $80-$100. Plastic was $25, bulkheads/misc. pvc $22, and I used an old rio 800 pump. Now I need a small PC light for it. I've made a lid for it to cut back on evaporation.

Looks nice. How big is it?

Looks nice Adam. On the light I think you can get the same ones the CPRs use pretty cheap - Jalil 13w PC light. Alternately you can get a bookworm light or one of those walmart worklights - both are small 13w PCs and prety cheap.

Thanks for the kind words...it's 16" wide 4" thick, and 12" tall. I don't know for sure but I think it holds almost two gallons. I already ordered a 13w retrofit from hellolights.com which may have been a mistake because it was only $15 and the shipping was $10. I have an old eclipse 12 bulb I'm going to use. If you're so inclined I would definitly build one before buying one. I can offer a few hints if anybody is planning on doing this...but Dan still knows best.

Hey, what glue did you use?

Judgeing by the look of the acrylic, I would say he used a Weldon 4 to make it. I have made all three sizes of these before and they are not hard to make at all. I normally used a 3/4" bulkhead on one side and a 1" for the out flow. The lights, I bought at Walmart for about $10-12 for the back. You can go to CPR's web site for the dimensions of the available refugiums.

The only thing I would tell people is to watch how you cut the holes because the bottom of each bulkhead needs to be level so that it will not be tilted when it sits on the tank edge.
