Volume in Gallons = Volume in ft3 x 7.48g/ft3
Ex. 2ft. x 2ft. x 2ft. tank = 8ft3 x 7.48g/ft3 = 59.84 gallons

Plumbing all depends on diameters and lengths of pipes/tubing. A lot of work figuring that out!

I usually do length x width x height and divide by 231 to get volume in gallons. I'd turn the pumps off, see where water level is in sump and plug that value into height to see how much you have at a given level.

I found the following for working with cylanders:

Area of a cylander in square inches or feet = (diameter/2)squared x 3.14 (pi)
Volume in cubic inches or feet = Area x Height or length

Then use previous forumla to convert cubic feet to gallon.

MIKEP - I assume your length x width x height would be in inches?

Yes, measurements in inches.
