I'd put the rock in a bucket with some water and let it sit for a week before You put it in the main tank.

I'd put it in the bucket 6 weeks. Some really bad strains of crypto can survive a month or more.

Yep, I'd go a month or so also. Just to be on the safe side

here's an article from liveaquaria that is good. http://www.liveaquaria.com/general/general.cfm?general_pagesid=78
I'm not sure if putting the rock in your tank would be a problem. Fish is what you have to worry about leaving out of the tank for so long since the ich uses them as a host

alright, thanks for all the info, i am gonna let the rock sit in a container for 4-6 weeks, it was mostly just extra rock for the qt anyways. also, i just treated my main tank with copper, i am using cuprimine, and it says to put in one dose, then wait 48 hrs and put in another dose and it should be up to .5. i tested to see what it was at after one does, and it is at .3 right now, but the two clowns in the qt still have ich on them, will it not completely fall off until i add the second dose or am i doing something wrong?
