UV sterilizer

Im thinking of running a UV sterilizer on my tank and would like some imput...who runs one who dosent and why///pros-V-cons.

I've been told if you have fuge, not to run one. I have one if you would like 25W Rainbow It would kill some of the benificial bacteria we want. I never had any parasites while running, Dont know much else. Ran it for along time, until got fuge. If you do decide to get one, I ran it off return pump not real fast, used valve to regulate some excess GPH through it back to sump.
