Closed Loop Intake

Would it be ok to have two intakes on my closed loop going into my mag 5. Only wanted to do this so I would be pulling water from both sides of the tank instead of just one. Will it "slow down" my pump? I'm looking at doing a closed loop like Chuck did here: http://www.maast.org/index.php?name=PNphpBB2&file=viewtopic&t=3354

I really don't think a dual intake on a closed loop would make a difference. Point the outputs to where You get a good circulation. Just my 2 cents.
