I am bringing a branching hammer that I know people will want
I also have two large frags of regular brown xenia. They are very nice frags but I do not know if people will want the common everyday xenia. Should I bring the xenia too?
Also, what are you bringing?

Bring the xenia. Lots of folks use it like macro - as nutrient export!
I will have some pulsing xenia (pink), some colt coral, mushrooms (various), and some leather.... I need to see if I have any other frags floating around in my tank. But I will be bringing lowish light, softies....

So who is going to help me frag some Zoanthids and assorted Mushrooms? I have never fraged anything before so help will be nice. I dont really have anything else of any large size since it is still a pretty new tank. I also have a small Pumping Xenia that recently split off that is already on some rubble.
Thanks in advance for the help.

I've got a few mushroom frags, and I'm bringing a rock that broke in half with lots of large polyps and some very pretty zoos...gonna take a pic so it can be seen instead of wondering what it looks like shriveled up in a bag and maybe some neon green star polyps....
It's nice to be able to start fragging. :D

Blake, you should talk to Troy about xenia; he's got a couple of tons of the stuff.
I can bring a sizable millepora colony that would yield several large frags; it's brown with blue tips. Real fuzzy stuff. Any interest in that?

Rocketeer, I'll take all the aiptasia you can bring. I pay top nothing, but, hey, you get rid of those things and thats good, right?
I'm bringing nothing due to recent developments in my tank. I don't want to spread some pathogen around if I did get something from a previous swap. Anyone who has lost whole corals, all their corals or a series of frags over the past couple of months should refrain from bringing anything to this swap. Not even a rock - Please, just to be safe for everyone.

I put 8 little, less than 1 inch aiptasias in there at noon. Three hours later there was only 5 left so I added a couple more. Don't know if they can handle the big ones yet. We'll see. I'll be thanking you for the aiptasia frags, no doubt.

Has anyone ever tried fragging this stuff before? It retracts as soon as you touch it. I can get aiptasia tissue with a turkey baster that, to my understanding, will turn into many young aiptasias. That material may be food for your critters.
It may be difficult getting pieces to attach to rocks. Any suggestions?

Also, please bring some unusual macroalgae if you have any. I posted in the WTB section, but I am looking for macros (non caulerpa) to put in my fuge. Maiden's Hair is of particular interest as well as any type of sea grass. Not very interested in the calcium eating stuff though, but I will take a little of it. All I am taking to the mtg is $. If I am not there right away, ask Misti what I want, she will have a list I am sending to her.

I might have some Green Star Polyps if anyone wants them. What's the best way to transport the frags from Austin to SA?

Not sure on that. Mine grew from one rock to another so I have a smaller portion on a smaller rock.

hammer and chisel a few pieces off the rock, or you can get a blade and peal them away from the rock.

I am bringing some pink encrusting gorgonian, anthella, capanella, and a few frags of garf's Bali Xenia.http://www.garf.org/BALISHOW/BALISHOW2/FrameSet.htm
The garf pic with two polyps on the rock is what my frag looked like when I received it a year ago. I have about 5 frags of the bali the size of a dime.
I am looking for any type of sps frags, I am also bringing money.

rocketeer, if you get pieces, just toss them into a ziplock baggie. I thought you were kidding about actually trying to frag them. They are little pieces of goo once retracted. If you mess with them and put the rock into a tank, you'll have more than just the few you messed with and then you will be buried in them. Best to leave them alone unless you are taking the whole rock out. The less you make them multiply the less you have to get rid of.

Dang Jim - That list makes me want to go (well I already wanted to go anyway - that just puts it over the top! doh - still have to sign up for membership.....will do that shortly). I have a business meeting bright and early Mon. morning in SA. Don't know if the frags could survive an overnight stay in SA before I come back to Austin.

Well I cant make it now. I wish I could. Especially since I have now seen the list of goodies that will be there. Oh well. Have fun. And someone can bring a frag or two back for me if you want. Or maybe Alex can save a couple for me for me. ;)
