I got this anemone last september for a b-day present. I was told it was a sebae it was a rather light color, but it looked kind of pretty. Lately I noticed the anemone started to darken. I thougth it may not receive enough light. So I moved it up a little in the tank. Today I am looking at it and it's beginning to look more like a BTA.

Wow, that's a tough one. I want to say sebae, but my bta resembles that at times. Sorry Kai.

I'd go with Sebae.

The darkening of the anemone is a good sign. That means it is growing zooanthlea(sic) algae.

It does look more like a Sebae, but it could be a BTA. When the tips of a BTA are not blown up they look just alike.

Ok, now I am really confused. Either Your BTA is a Sebae, or my Sebae is a BTA. The only thing that would suggest they are Sebaes are the lighter colored tips.

Doesn't an LTA have a pink stem?

check out this site, this guy documents the life cycle of his BTA. In the later stages it looks exactly like what Kaiser and I have. I wonder what we should do to get the bubble to appear again?
