I had a 4" yellow tang in my 72G and I added a comprable size blue tang a couple of weeks ago. I went through isolating the yellow tang for a week in a small tank to give the blue a chance to get use to the place. It looked like it worked, but now it looks like the yellow tang is still beeing an ***. He will let the blue swim in most of the tank, but whenever he gets close to the rocks or the cleanner shrimp he'll take a shot at him. I was thinking of adding a third tang to go with the odd number theory, but I'm not sure if I have enough room. My other fish are:
- clown 2"
- bicolor blennie 2"
- 6 line wrass 2"
- flame angel 2.5"
- chalk bass 1.5"
I know I'm kind of on the high side of fish load, but whould a Kole or a Sailfin put me over the limit?

Give it a little more time and everything will be OK. In a 72 g tank, I would not add another tang.

What happened to your clown tang? You should only keep 1 tang in a tank that small. You might also want to add some more live rock.

Some of you may think I'm "pimping" this site, but I've been a fish guy for years and have come to trust these guys when I have questions/doubts regarding stocking, selection, treatment, compatibility, etc. Give this a try: www.wetwebmedia.com, "google" search on their site "tang compatibility". Good information, sometimes varying opinions but useful for making an informed decision.

Thanks for everyones input. I kinda knew I was pushing it, so I'll let the two guys duke it out untill they work out their issues. Stephen, My Clown Tang kicked the bucket a month ago. I had him for about a month and he looked very healthy, swimming and eating and not taking **** from the yellow. All the sudden one day I come back from work and he is floating next to the overflow. I have no Idea what happened. My water conditions looked fine and none of the other fish looked bothered. I read that they aredificult to maintain, but I'm not sure which aspect, feeding looked OK and it didn't looked stressed.

He looked good in that pic of your tank. I've got the same exact tank. Only one tang, though.
