If they are Ricordia (Florida and Yuma), they should take a small piece of meaty food (mysis, cut up shrimp, silversides, ect) and gobble it up. Everone of my ricordia LOVE to eat, its amazing how big their mouths can get.

those sound like discosoma sp. of mushroom. i provide mine with lots of unobstructed light, and moderate to low flow areas, near the bottom, where they can collect their food. they can then grow upwards naturally, leaving behing bits of themselves, that grow up into more mushrooms. they can grow just fine making their own food photosynthesis (sp?), and what they absorb naturally as foodbits get captured by the disc itself.

Suggest trying this link: www.wetwebmedia.com. Do a "google" on their site, "feeding mushrooms" and you will get a wealth of information on feeding your mushrooms and help in identifying the ones you have. Enjoy.
