This stuff is growing on a frag and I thought it was just algae so I scrubbed it off. It's grown back in like a week on the tip of only one branch. That branch doesn't look as good as the rest also. Can anybody think of anything else it could be besides algae? Is it somethin bad?

I'm not quite sure. I think it may have fallen in the sand when I was arranging things at first. I don't have any other aggressive corals around it that I know of besides my green acro and some zoos. My toadstool's tentacle or whatever that long stringy thing that comes out has been reachin almost clear across the tank lately but other than that I don't know of anything. I'll just have to keep an eye on it. All of it is really healthy except for that one branch.

Beautiful frag! I have had good luck blowing damaged or stressed sps with a turkey baster twice a day. Don't blow it too hard, but gently add current to the frag 3 or 4 times twice daily and it will improve. Of course, you could put in a higher flow area and not have to use the turkey baster. Sps corals like a lot of water flow.

Thanks Uel. It's a special "Jim Norris frag". One thing I don't have right now is high water flow. It's about medium but I'm upgrading pretty soon. I'll try using the turkey baster
